Calculator & Tool Disclaimer
Our calorie calculators, BMI tools, weight-loss planners, and meal planning tools use established scientific formulas (such as the Mifflin-St Jeor equation for BMR and the Harris-Benedict equation for TDEE). These are widely accepted estimation methods, but they produce estimates — not exact measurements.
Individual metabolic rates vary significantly based on genetics, hormonal status, medications, medical conditions, gut microbiome, and other factors that no online calculator can account for.
BMI (Body Mass Index) is a population-level screening tool and has well-documented limitations. It does not account for muscle mass, bone density, fat distribution, age, sex, or ethnicity. A "normal" BMI does not guarantee good health, and an "overweight" BMI does not mean you are unhealthy.
Do not use our calculators to set extreme calorie deficits or make drastic dietary changes without consulting a qualified healthcare professional. Eating below 1,200 calories per day (women) or 1,500 calories per day (men) without medical supervision can be dangerous.
