How to batch-cook Pakistani food for the week, save money, and stay on track with your calorie goals — even with a busy schedule.

Why Meal Prep Works

The biggest reason people fall off their diet is convenience. When you're hungry and tired, you reach for whatever is fastest — usually something high in calories.

Meal prep solves this by making the healthy choice the easy choice.

What to Prep for a Pakistani Week

Proteins (cook once, use all week):

  • Boiled/grilled chicken breast — use in karahi, salads, sandwiches
  • Boiled eggs — quick snack or breakfast
  • Cooked daal — reheat for any meal
Carbs:
  • Batch-cook brown rice — stores well for 4–5 days
  • Make chapati dough — roll and cook fresh takes 2 minutes
Vegetables:
  • Chop and store onions, tomatoes, capsicum
  • Pre-cook aloo (potatoes) for quick sabzi

Sample Weekly Prep Session (2 hours)

  • 1Boil 1kg chicken breast (30 min) — use throughout the week
  • 2Cook a large pot of daal (45 min) — 5–6 servings
  • 3Cook brown rice (25 min) — 4–5 servings
  • 4Chop vegetables (20 min) — store in containers
  • 5Boil 12 eggs (15 min) — snacks and breakfasts

Calorie-Controlled Containers

Portion your meals into containers:

  • Protein: 150–200g per container
  • Carbs: 1 cup rice or 2 chapati
  • Vegetables: unlimited

This makes tracking calories effortless — you already know what's in each container.

Storage Tips

  • Cooked chicken: 3–4 days in fridge
  • Cooked daal: 4–5 days in fridge
  • Cooked rice: 3–4 days in fridge
  • Chopped vegetables: 3–5 days in fridge
