Building muscle or trying to stay full longer? These everyday desi foods are protein powerhouses — and most are already in your kitchen.
Why Protein Matters
Protein is the most satiating macronutrient — it keeps you full longer, preserves muscle during weight loss, and supports recovery after exercise. Most Pakistanis don't eat enough of it.
The recommended daily intake is 0.8–1.2g per kg of body weight. For a 70kg person, that's 56–84g of protein per day.
Top 15 High-Protein Pakistani Foods
1. Chicken Breast (31g protein per 100g)

2. Daal Mash (White Lentils) — 9g per 100g cooked
One of the most underrated protein sources. A full bowl of daal mash (250g) provides 22g of protein and is incredibly filling.
3. Eggs — 6g per egg
Eggs are a complete protein source with all essential amino acids. 2 eggs at breakfast = 12g protein for only 140 calories.
